so my mum excitedly calls and tells me how the brothers are now told to pack a survival emergency bag, so the tribulation is coming!!!

talk about clutching at straws.

shes packed her bible of course and the some non essential stuff like food...he he.

I like to watch end of the world shows and every time I think their is no way JW's would be the last to fall. They do not have the skills to survive in crisis. They have to keep that fear going.

since our episode with our oldest son and his wife we know the word is out that we no longer want to be jw.

the other day an elder from fl tried to call us but our fax machine was on during his attempt.

i quess when he heard the fax noise he thought he may have had the wrong number.

Twenty years or so ago in Kingston there was a big exodus. I think it was around the Barbera awakening. Anyways just wondering what is going on in my home town. Shokan is about an hour away. That is the congregation I was raised in. As a child looking back it was a big family. Things changed as I got older and the ratio of "locals" to bethelites got unbalanced. i ask this because the wt always bangs on about if you trust in jehovah and make that leap into pioneering, you will always be provided for.

at the time i joined the cult, a friend was continuous aux.

I pioneered for 13 years straight out of HS. I was extreamly poor most of that time. I had boots with holes in them and got frost bite. I had a lot given to me like clothing and food. I was never hungry unless you count being so depressed I stopped eating as hungry?

Your earliest doubt?

this might be an unfair question for those who have been out of the organization for decades, but i'm wondering if any of you remember your earliest doubt -- maybe something odd that occurred to you as a kid (if you were a jw then).

please try to limit to two doubts at the most :-).

i think my first "doubt" was simply realizing that at the time of the flood, every animal that wasn't in the ark died (well, besides the fish, supposedly).
